Current Job Vacancies at Wade (Including Jobs in Halstead, Essex)

Operations at our modern facilities at Halstead, Essex encompass a wide range of skills, including manufacturing with CNC machines, stainless steel fabrication with press brake, laser and welding, production engineering, inspection, warehousing, procurement, design, product development and testing, I.T., technical services, customer services, marketing, administration and accounts.

Current Job Vacancies at Halstead, Essex

  • Design Draughtsperson

    This is a permanent full-time job including the preparation of drawings and data on a timely basis. The successful applicant will have experience of 3D modelling - we currently use AutoDesk Inventor.

    Knowledge of stainless steel fabrication and castings will be advantageous.

    Wade products are used in modern buildings - residential and commercial - in bathrooms, kitchens and externally in roofs and pedestrian walkways where quality is called for. We have a purpose-made factory at Halstead with high-tech production including laser and machine centres.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in the creation of 2D and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor or similar.
    • Practical knowledge and experience of a wide range of materials and production processes ranging from castings through to stainless steel fabrications.
    • Knowledge and experience of working within an ISO9001:2015 quality system.
    • Familiar in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel spreadsheets.
    • Experience of using and creating Bills of Materials (BOM’s) and Parts Lists.
    • Engineering Change Notes and drawing issues.
    • Working with a ERP system such as Microsoft Navision or similar system.
    • To work both independently and as part of a small team.
    • Possible travel to other group companies, customers and suppliers.
    • Support Production, Technical Sales, Sales and Customer Services departments.


  • Design Engineer

    This is a permanent full-time job including the preparation of engineered product designs, drawings and data on a timely basis. The successful applicant will have experience of 3D modelling - we currently use AutoDesk Inventor.

    Knowledge of stainless steel fabrication and castings will be advantageous.

    Requirements:

    • As above (Design Draughtsperson), plus: Degree qualification preferred; knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering

  • Customer Services Assistant

    Our Customer Services team handles enquiries and orders from telephone callers, emailers and visitors to our premises.

    We prepare quotations for standard products by means of our computer system that holds prices and terms and we process sales orders on the same system which enables us to answer queries on the status of an enquiry or order.

    This position is suited to a person with a good telephone manner, with computer skills to input accurately and who is inclined to be helpful.

    Knowledge of building construction would be useful, but is not essential as product and other training will be provided.

  • Technical Advisor

    Our team of Technical Advisors act as a help desk for telephone callers, emailers and visitors to our premises.

    Most queries are dealt with by directing callers to our catalogues and guiding through a comprehensive range of standard products to arrive at those suited for the given application.

    In other cases a drawing or detail may be requested to enable review and a quotation to be prepared by a Technical Advisor.

    As we also offer variations and custom-made products, our Technical Advisors learn to calculate selling prices for such items by using spreadsheets with established formula.

    This position is suited to a person with good communication skills, knowledge of building construction and an interest in knowing how things work. Product and other training provided.

  • Buying Assistant

    A vacancy exists within the Procurement Department for an experienced Buying Assistant.

    Key functions are :- to provide and maintain an effective purchasing service in the Company whereby goods / materials / services are purchased at optimum cost and delivered when required, whilst maintaining the most effective and profitable utilisation of equipment, space, time and staff, all within an Approved Quality System ISO 9001: 2015.

    Preferred experience would include some knowledge of Buying Office procedures in a manufacturing environment, to include Re-order Points and Levels, placing orders with established suppliers and processing goods received: arranging/controlling transfers to/from sub-contractors: effective monitoring of and progressing on-time deliveries using bespoke ERP computer systems.

  • Production Engineer

    Previous experience programming CNC machine tools to include lathes, machining centres or fabrication equipment Laser cutting/pressbrakes. Together with experience of continual improvement by means of enhanced methods and capital equipment investment projects. Automation experience would also be advantageous.

  • Warehouse Operative

    To pick, pack and put away material; preference given to candidate with fork lift certificate; range of training possibilities.

  • Machine Operator

    Opportunity to join our production team in a clean, modern manufacturing facility at Halstead. Applicants should ideally have had training and or experience in one or more of the following processes:

    • CNC Turning /Milling.
    • Manual Drilling & Tapping (single & multi spindle).
    • Manual Turning / Milling.
    • Linishing / Sawing.
    • Assembly / De-Burring.
    • Laser Cutting.
    • Welding (tig, mig, resistance, brazing, automated).
    • Press Brake / Rolling.
